iSinolaw Limited (“iSinolaw”) is a Hong Kong based company founded in 2000 by a team of top-class professionals and experienced Chinese entrepreneurs including Dr Priscilla Leung, Dr Stanley Ho, Dr Lee Jun Sing and Mr Cheng Kar Shing, Peter. Our mission is to bridge the legal cultures between the East and the West. Between 2000 and 2012, the Company operates one of world’s first online bilingual database of China Law, www.isinolaw.com and has been recognized as one of the most comprehensive, updated and authoritative online China legal library, which can be demonstrated by the recognition and formation of strategic partnerships with many of the Chinese government authorities (please refer to the section headed “Strategic Partners” for the list of those partners). It has also been granted “The Exclusive English Translation Rights” and “The Exclusive Rights” by a number of important Chinese authorities to put their Chinese and English version of their Legal resources online, these include (a) Court cases and Judicial Interpretations provided by the Supreme People’s Court; (b) Selected works of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission Awards; and (c) Arbitral awards of China Maritime Arbitration Commission (please refer to the section headed “Our Publications”). Our footprint has been extended around the world with offices and / or representatives in Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom.

In 2007, iSinolaw joined hands with Law Press China, one of the largest and most influential legal publishers in China, and have established, a Sino-Foreign Joint Venture Company, Beijing Fa Xin Technologies Co., Ltd (the “JV Company”) in Beijing. The JV Company has been granted an Internet Provider License by the Chinese government, and is one of the very few companies having foreign ownership allowed to disseminate information on the Internet in China. Its main product “Access to Law” (www.falvm.com.cn) is a one-stop professional China legal portal, housing over 3,000 e-books published by the Law Press China (please refer to the section headed “Access to Law” for further information), as well as a Chinese legal database.

In November 2011, iSinolaw has achieved another major milestone by joining forces with Thomson Reuters. Under the cooperation arrangement, majority of iSinolaw legal database will appear in Westlaw China’s platform (http://www.westlawchina.com/), and will be access through Westlaw China, as well as all professional services and customer support will be conducted via Westlaw China’s team.
